Edible arrangement!

Edible arrangements are fun to make, and I understand why they charge so much for them!

Photobucket
make sure you have something to use! We used Styrofoam under it, and we had sticks left over from an edible arrangement that we saved.

Photobucket
Clean and Cut the fruit! we used cookie cutters, for real.

Photobucket
Clean your fruit again, and set them out do dry!

Photobucket
start making some of the bigger pieces

Photobucket
Slowly it starts to dwindle away!

Photobucket
build from the bottom and sides, so the middle is sturdy when you stick it up. We ended up using wooden bamboo sticks for the really big pieces so they were sturdy!

Photobucket
Just add fruit. As you start filling out with the melon, make some sort of pattern, it makes it pretty :)

Photobucket
It stored for about a day, due to the lack of fruit being in season...
it was feb after all...

★★★★★/5 ★'s,
Because it's a ball.
For real!
We bought a big one like this for my grandparents 50th anniversary, and it cost over 150 dollars (It would have been more to ship it as well. but we picked it up and took it to them! ) And we did this in feburary, when fruit is pretty much as expensive as it will be all year, and it only cost us fifty dollars or so.

for this arrangement we used;
One cantlope,
one green melon,
one box of strawberries,
a bag of grapes,
and the last pineapple in town. (Seriously. We checked three stores, and the one we bought was the last one at the third store. )
one baby watermelon.

PLUS we had enough to make a small fruit tray as well :)

Italiano Beef

Even though I'm not a major fan of it, I made it.
I usually hate large pieces of Meat, and stray away from them. But I made it never the less!

You should let the meat defrost first, It cooks quicker.

Stick it in a large pot, add water, herbs, and in this case Peppers (Yum!)
DO NOT ADD EXTRA SALT if you are putting the Peppers on, they are salty enough for it!

Photobucket

Let it cook for like two-three hours, while keeping an eye on it. Then take it out, and pull it apart

Photobucket

Get the mixings, ha.

Photobucket

Make the sandwich

Photobucket

Eat...ha.

It wasn't bad.
I wish I could say I loved it more, but I'm not a big Beef eater. Everyone said they liked it, so I guess it was a success!

★★★/5 ★'s,
cause I don't like beef all that much...

Wonder what I did with the Caramel sauce?
Well, I made a lava cake!

Needs
One box devils food cake mix
Jar of icing
corn syrup
Caramel sauce
Optional: vanilla Ice cream (YUM)

Okay, So I made a lava cake for the first time, and I'd only change a few things, but we'll get to that later.
First I made the cakes in big muffin tins, just make the cake as it says on the box.
Take them out, and let them cool.
Photobucket
Let them cool for at Least a half hour. Cut off the muffin part (My dad eats that part, ha.) Then spoon out the middle, make sure to save the middle part! Put both aside.

Melt the icing in a bowl, and add a bit of corn syrup. The next time I want to do this, I am going to use unsweetened chocolate chips and make a ganache with it, because the icing make it a bit TO sweet in the end. But you melt the two in the microwave, and put it on the counter. Put the cakes in wrap, and put them in the microwave for thirty seconds. While you do that, drizzle caramel on the plates. When the cakes are done, unwrap one at a time, and put on the plate. Add a drizzle or two of caramel to the inside of the cake, then add about three teaspoons of icing mixture into cake, and then top with the inside. Then add a scoop of ice cream, chocolate and caramel drizzle. Repeat with all cakes.

I really liked this and so did everyone in my family. Next time I'd like to do the filling a little less sweet, and make the caramel thicker, and it'd be perfect. YUM!

Caramel No Way!

So, guess what's hard to make?
caramel.
Really, It's supper yummy, but really hard.
Most candy type things are!

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup water
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Put the sugar into a sauce pan. Add the water (yes, on top of sugar) Cook the sugar and water over medium heat. Bring it to a boil, make sure that you have the cream ready, by the side. Let the sugar boil to 350 degrees with a candy thermometer!
Photobucket
Add the cream SLOWLY, and whisk at the same time. Just keep whisking and it will come together. Add the vanilla, and its really good. It took me like three time to try this and when I finally (sort of) got it, I still had some texture issues, It was thick, but still a bit runny, but it was GOOD. you just have to mess with it a bit!
Photobucket
(The pieces in there is cake, Ha. I ladled it out on the cake and on the bottom of the plate, and i got cake stuck to the spoon.)

★★★★'s/5★'s
Only cause I messed up. Haahha.

Ever had it?
It's pretty legit.
I've tried both the one with cherry and the one just the regular.
I have to say I like the one with Cherry in it better.
It SO tastes like cherry pie filling, Yum.
I'm not sure why it's suppose to be good for you, but it is!
So, I'd give it a ★★★/5★'s
I'd drink it again, but it's not my drink of choice
